Prior to her disappearance, Jana was arrested in Union County, South Carolina. Details about the arrest are limited, but this event is part of her documented history. 

Jana Stines Manasco, was bonded out of jail.

Jana Stines Manasco, 31, was last seen in the Monarch area of Union County, South Carolina. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 151 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities noted that she might also be using a different last name, such as Stines.

A candlelight vigil was held at the Monarch Fire Department to honor Jana and bring renewed attention to her case. Family and friends gathered to share stories and memories, emphasizing her past as an athlete and the struggles she faced after an injury led to substance use. Union County Sheriff Jeff Bailey attended the vigil and affirmed that his office continues to follow up on every lead in the search for Manasco. 

 Jimmy received a text with 3 pictures showing bones, and also made mention of a bucket/bag of concrete and a tarp. On July 19th, 2024 at 10:30 a.m., Union County did collect bones. The police had stated that the bones being collected were not human. They advised that had confirmed this by sending photos to their expert. The family has not heard anything since.

On the one-year anniversary of her disappearance, another vigil was held to keep Jana’s memory alive and to encourage anyone with information to come forward. The community remains hopeful for answers.
